Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center is situated in the core area of Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, on the south bank of the Qiantang River. The project covers a total area of 1,110 acres, with a construction area of 1.34 million square meters, a net indoor exhibition area of 300,000 square meters, and a total investment of more than 20 billion RMB. Phase I has a net exhibition area of 155,000 square meters, and the net exhibition scale will be ranked No. 1 in Zhejiang Province after the completion of the project.
The Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center integrates two iconic Hangzhou features, the Hangzhou fan and silk, into its overall shape of the “sails” along the Qiantang River. The exhibition center has 18 exhibition halls spread throughout Halls 1 through 12. Phase I is a fishbone layout with Halls 1–8 and 10 exhibition halls, while Phase II is a semi-enclosed fan plan with four two-story halls. A conference center and an event center are available in Phase I. The conference center is primarily used for meetings, banquets, special exhibitions, and other functions. It includes a 7,000-square-meter column-free multi-functional conference hall. The event center, which has ladder seats and retractable seats and can accommodate large-scale events for over 7,000 people, is primarily used for performing arts activities, variety entertainment, and annual meetings.
