The business events sector in Australia and New Zealand is thriving, and the demand for world-class convention centre management has never been greater. In partnership with the Australian Business Events Association (ABEA), AIPC is proud to introduce the AIPC ANZ Academy—a premier leadership and professional development program tailored to the region.

Launching in June 2025, this five-day immersive program will equip industry professionals with the skills and insights needed to drive excellence in convention centre operations. Hosted by Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Academy will feature expert-led sessions, hands-on exercises, and invaluable networking opportunities.

By investing in local talent, AIPC and ABEA are strengthening the future of convention centres across the ANZ region.

OVERVIEW:

This first edition of the AIPC Australian Academy is an intensive 4-day bootcamp covering all key aspects of venue management – from finance to operations – delivered in a variety of engaging formats, including lectures by global thought leaders, hands-on workshops, and team challenges. Participants will gain practical insights, industry best practices, and networking opportunities with peers from across the region.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

The AIPC Australian Academy is designed for middle and senior management professionals in the venue industry who are eager to enhance their expertise and contribute to the future of venue management in the Asia-Pacific region.

This academy is expected to welcome 25 – 30 attendees, with a maximum of 40.
As with other AIPC regional academies, industry experts from both global and regional markets will be available throughout the programme to share insights and offer coaching and guidance during the interactive team challenges.

Beyond learning, building strong professional connections is a key focus. At the end of the programme, participants will have established a valuable network of industry peers, enabling continued exchange of ideas and collaboration long after the academy ends.

A block of rooms have been reserved for AIPC delegates at Pan Pacific Melbourne. Directly connected to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre via level 1 of the hotel, the 5 star Pan Pacific Melbourne is the perfect place for conference delegates, offering sophisticated, spacious and well equipped rooms, with unrestricted views of Melbourne city or bay. Situated on the banks of the Yarra River in the iconic South Wharf precinct, the hotel is steps away from multicultural cafes, restaurants, entertainment and shopping.

REGISTRATION

The AIPC Australian Academy is offered at a competitive rate 3150 AUD (excluding travel and accommodation) for Industry members and $3,350 AUD for non-members.
Program fees include:

  • Course-work and session materials
  • Catering – full day conference catering provided
  • Welcome cocktail reception 16/6/25 and Dinners from Tuesday to Thursday
  • Certificate of achievement
