The new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg: Prime location, trailblazing architecture, maximum flexibility

The recently modernized and remodeled CCH – Congress Center Hamburg has given the city a convention center that further strengthens its position as one of the world’s top locations for major events. Ideally situated in the center

Few major cities around the globe are in the fortunate position of having a convention center right in their middle. The famous port city on the river Elbe is among them. The new CCH is situated in the heart of Hamburg where distances are short and everything is within reach. The Dammtor mainline train station (with access to high-speed and commuter trains as well as buses) is just a few steps away. It takes as little as 25 minutes to travel from Hamburg Airport to the center. Another great benefit: The Hamburg Messe und Congress exhibition campus and the inner city can be reached on foot in a matter of minutes.

Flexibility in three dimensions

From the generously-spaced entrance hall to the Belvedere and the venues, the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg’s modern architecture is awe-inspiring. Flooded with daylight, it features a spatial design that ensures ultimate flexibility. Its up to 50 multifunctional halls spread across four levels and three vertical event sections, each with its own entrances and exits. Nearly all of the halls have one unbeatable advantage: they can be downsized, enlarged, subdivided or expanded to suit your needs. We call it “Grosse Freiheit”, Great Freedom – which is also the name of a proverbial street in our city. What is more, the vertical and horizontal zonal layout of the CCH allows several events to take place simultaneously. The complex also boasts top-of-the-line AV equipment and an innovative lighting system. All in all, Hamburg’s convention center provides 36,000 square meters of usable surface area, making it one of Europe’s largest. There are 12,000 square meters of event space and another 12,000 square meters of foyer space. 12,000 visitors can attend events at the CCH simultaneously. The remodeling project put a strong emphasis on sustainability. And the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg is barrier-free.

The surroundings: “Planten un Blomen” gardens

The location of the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg is as unique as its surroundings. Planten un Blomen park is right next-door. The 45 hectare park is an ideal place to go for a walk in Hamburg’s fresh air or recuperate before or after an event or during a break.

Plenty of Hotels in the neighborhood

And, last but not least, around 100 hotels of all categories with a total of roughly 3.500 rooms can be found nearby. Within a radius of just two kilometers around the CCH there are as many as 8,000 hotel beds. The 27-floor Radisson Blu hotel is directly connected to the CCH complex. From its top floors you have a breathtaking view.
