New Board Members

Two new board members were appointed at the 2023 General Assembly: Ross Steele and Gabor Ganczer.

With over 25 years’ experience in Convention Centre Management, Ross is currently General Manager of the new Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre in New Zealand. Prior to this Ross was General Manager of the Cairns Convention Centre in Australia which was voted AIPC World’s Best Congress Centre in 2014.

Ross has a background in finance, is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Certified Venue Executive, and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ross is currently a Director of Business Events Industry Aotearoa, New Zealand’s peak Business Events agency.

Gabor is a graduate of Budapest Business School where he majored in Commerce, Catering and Tourism Management. During the years spent at Accor and after his arrival at Hungexpo he had the opportunities to attend different management and leadership programs to keep up with business trends and innovations.

Gabor is currently Managing Director of HUNGEXPO in Budapest and of Turin Exhibitions Italy, both belonging to GL Events Group.

Gabor Lives in Budapest with his wife and their 3 children. When he is not keeping busy with his business you can find him on one of the World’s amazing diver’s spots or in the swimming pool as he believes sport not just helps to relax but teaches you many things.
