The inaugural Australia/New Zealand Academy took place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC) in the week of July 16th. The five day “bootcamp” touched upon various aspects of convention centre management – from finance to leadership skills. The 23 participants got lectures from a wide range of event industry leaders, participated to workshop and delivered a true team challenge. And they had fun, created a new network and discovered skills not used before.
While the journey was intense, it also proved to be energizing and of great value. The AIPC ANZ Academy 2025 received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, with an average satisfaction rating of 4.94 out of 5. Attendees highlighted the program’s strategic value, strong leadership development focus, and the opportunity to broaden their industry perspective through a diverse mix of speakers and interactive exercises.

We would also like to thank Steve Mackenzie (Momentus Technologies) and Adam Paulitsch (Populous) for their continued support for the AIPC Academy and their generosity in sharing time and knowledge.
