Cyber Resilience: Lessons from the Front Line

Date: 27/10/2025

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the perfect time to revisit how prepared we are for an increasingly digital and unpredictable world. The World Economic Forum’s 2025 report, The Cyber Resilience Compass, produced with the University of Oxford, sheds light on how organizations can move from a purely defensive cybersecurity mindset to one of true resilience.

The report highlights seven interconnected pillars — leadership, governance, culture, business processes, technical systems, crisis management, and ecosystem engagement — each critical to ensuring that when incidents occur (and they will), organizations can absorb the shock and continue operating effectively. Drawing on over 100 experts across industries, the paper distills real-world lessons on how to anticipate risks, strengthen collaboration, and transform cyber awareness into business value.

Ultimately, cyber resilience is less about preventing every breach and more about preserving trust, continuity, and confidence when disruption strikes. As AIPC members continue to drive digital transformation across venues and events, this report offers timely, practical guidance for building security and resilience into the very fabric of our operations.
