AIPC is thrilled to release the fourth episode of its podcast, Voices of Venues Around the World (VoVatW), where we continue to explore the stories and perspectives that shape the global events industry.  

In this episode, we feature Austin Lang, Sustainability Manager at the Calgary Stampede, who shares his insights into the evolving landscape of networking and sustainability in the events sector. He reflects on the challenges faced during the pandemic, including the transition to virtual and outdoor events, and highlights the importance of connection in the events sector. Austin also sheds light on the 10-day Stampede celebration, which combines live entertainment, rodeo events, and a vibrant market, while celebrating Indigenous cultures in Canada. 

Austin’s vision for the future of sustainability involves building a sustainable legacy at the BMO Centre, a newly expanded convention center in Calgary, which will feature innovative, environmentally-friendly spaces for guests to connect. He also shares his passion for creating meaningful experiences and connections, leaving listeners with an inspiring perspective on sustainability and the power of human connection.
