Innovation in convention centres doesn’t always come from new buildings or external disruption. Often, it begins inside the organization, with teams who rethink processes, redesign services, or challenge long-standing assumptions.
The AIPC Innovation Award 2026 recognises exactly that: bold, forward-thinking initiatives developed by convention centres themselves. From technology and sustainability to operations, customer experience and workforce solutions, the Award celebrates practical innovation that drives measurable impact.
With the application deadline of 31 March 2026 approaching, centres are encouraged to step forward and share their achievements. Finalists will present their initiatives live during the Innovation from Inside session at the AIPC Annual Conference in Bilbao.
Two distinctions will be presented:
- The Jury Award, selected by an independent panel of experts
- The Delegate’s Choice Award, voted live by peers at the AIPC Annual Conference
Beyond recognition, the Award provides international visibility, peer validation and the opportunity to inspire the global convention centre community.
Last year’s winners demonstrated how internal creativity can reshape performance from AI-enhanced operational solutions to large-scale sustainability programmes combining efficiency and community impact.
