Weather in Costa Rica (July 2024)

In July, Costa Rica experiences its rainy season, known locally as the "green season."  Temperatures remain relatively warm and consistent throughout the country. You Expect 24°C daytime maximum temperatures in the shade with on average 6 hours of sunshine per day in Costa Rica in July. July tends to be relatively humid due to the increased rainfall, especially in the rainforest regions. It's advisable to pack waterproof clothing, an umbrella and water-resistant footwear for outdoor activities.


Costa Rica uses power outlets mainly of type A and B. The standard voltage is 120V, and the standard frequency is 60Hz.

Generally safe for travelers. Exercise caution in crowded areas against pickpocketing and keep an eye on belongings.


Tipping is not obligatory, but it’s appreciated in restaurants and for exceptional service. In restaurants, a 10% service charge might already be included in the bill.
